The cover was revealed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on February 13, but even before the magazine released, Mattel and Sports Illustrated were promoting the partnership with the hashtag "#Unapologetic.
Both Barbie doll and Sports Illustrated have come under fire in the past couple of decades for promoting unrealistic body expectations.
Now the strange pairing for the 50th anniversary of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has stirred up controversy among parents of little girls who think the doll is becoming more sexualized.
