It's Time For Me To Give PWG The Attention It Deserves

I have to admit I had a rather slow start here on PWG. Although the news that a new and fresh writing site is ready to take off the world by storm was truly exciting, I didn’t start my new adventure at full speed. I preferred to wait for a while and see the site grow, but I promised myself that I would write my first original PWG post by the end of this week, and here it is. I can finally say that from now on the Preferred Writers Group is officially part of my writing life.
I can’t deny the fact that I am in a position where I find it hard to make up my mind on where to post a new article, and from now PWG is going to make my choice even harder. It will enter a tough competition with several other sites, and especially with FullofKnowledge and Bubblews. Therefore, whenever a new idea crosses my mind and I start to develop it, I also have the difficult task of choosing where to publish the final product. It will always be hard to decide which site should have priority, but I’m glad there are several options to choose from.

I can see that PWG is growing really fast. It will soon have more than 100 members and the blog’s earnings are also going up fast. Therefore I am eager to be an active contributor to the site’s welfare  by writing, meeting new people and interacting with them. It is basically the beginning of a new and exciting journey into the wonderful realms of knowledge and communication, and why not, it may become my preferred writing and earning site as well.
At the end of my first original PWG post I want to say hello to all the members of this new and very promising site. I hope we’ll get to know each other better and share our thoughts and impressions as often as possible. Long live PWG!

Water is Not Optional in Our Diets

We all know that water is important to our bodies.  The more water we drink, the healthier we can be.  We know that water is good for us because is it all natural and doesn't  put anything back into our bodies that we wish wasn't there, in fact, it helps clean out our bodies.
Water also helps to keep our bodies temperature steady and helps move oxygen around making sure to reach all the cells.  It also protects your joints and organs, this I never knew.  I have a few joint problems and am glad to know this.
With just the food we eat, our bodies receive about 20 percent of the water needed.  The rest is up to us to make sure we drink enough to keep our bodies in working order.  There is a simply way to make sure you are getting enough, simply take your weight (in pounds) and divide this number in half, giving you the approximate number of ounces you should drink daily.  Example:  If you weigh 200 lbs, you should be drinking 100 ounces of water a day.
Water is also good for your skin.  It will help to keep it from drying out.  I know how irritating dry skin can be.  It is flakey and itches all the time.
If you drink alot of caffeine then you need to double that amount with water to make sure your body doesn't get dehydrated.  This statement applies to me in  many ways,  I need to either cut back or drink more water.  Probably both.
I have plenty of reasons to start drinking more water, what about you?

My Baby: A Poem for my Baby

I am depressed because after 10 years of planning our second baby, my OB tell me the very bad news about my baby, it suddenly stop to grow and do not show sign of life with no heartbeat. But I am still hopeful that she will emerge to life. The OB gyn wanted me to come back after a week for her to know if it is miss abortion or just an error at her machine. I was shocked and afraid since that day, how can she judge too quickly, it’s too early to tell. But I keep on praying that there is life within me waiting and excited to live this world.

Out of agony I dedicated this poem to my baby inside me. And if you happen to read this post, please say a little prayer for my baby. I’m still full of hope that everything will be alright, together we can surpass this test and face life with a smile.

Redemption

For the fool, the world is not enough. For the wise, only peace is priceless. I have written myself into a corner many times for my ideals, but I have brought down far greater than you with only a few words.

I am not burdened by such weaknesses as pride or dignity. I am a pauper yet I possess the envy of leaders for my ability to write the words they would speak as their own and inspire other great leaders into action.

Why would leaders require the words of writers to inspire the hearts and minds of people? Is it not the heart of the writer that felt those words? Is it not the mind of the writer that conveyed that passion? Perhaps in this manner, great leaders could only be described as the puppets of writers. Our words from your lips without the need for a string.

I am starved of hope with only my passion for words to sustain me. Like the taste of wine, words are only exquisite when you know the difference vintage and deception. A word bears wrath like no other when spoken passionately. A word carries its own power. Alive, a love and death. To misuse a word is the only blasphemy left to us. To speak a word in vain. To take a word and deceitfully manipulate its power... is unforgivable.

Redemption means the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt. Redemption also means the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil. "Redemption" is a word I never use when writing for someone else. The origin of the word "redemption" required blood as the only means of payment. In the literal context of the word, only blood can redeem a debt... can make one clean of sin, error or evil.

Having never met me, seen my face or heard my voice... would you believe me if I told you they all would recognize my words?

A Fun Little Way To Earn Extra Money Online

I don't usually write about get paid to sites, but frankly, I've already fallen in love. A friend recently told me about Rewarder and I was skeptic at first. I've seen quite a few question/answer sites that are nothing but a scam. Turns out, Rewarder is different. Some people I know, including the one who told me about it, have already gotten paid.

The way it works is a person asks a question and assigns a reward to it. It seems like the majority of questions have a reward between $2 and $5, so you're not going to get rich doing this. You claim rewards you can answer and submit the best answer you possibly can. I suggest adding research links if applicable to prove you're an authority. You can also state why you're qualified to answer in your profile and when you answer.

You're supposed to hear back within 3-5 days and if you win (others can answer the same question), you get the reward. What I like most is there are questions about everything. I used to be a math tutor and had a ball answering math questions today. I haven't heard if I've won yet or not, but it was nice to put my rusty math skills to use once again.

You get paid through PayPal. Currently, the only issues I've found is the verification. You can verify who you are by connecting your Rewarder account to social networks and verifying your phone number and email. All this is optional. The phone and email currently don't work. Also, you can only answer 10 questions a day.

If you'd like to join, please consider using my link. I get 10% for referring. If you don't want to use the link, just go to Rewarder. When signing up, ensure you Register instead of just entering your email to browse the site. The difference is you're asked for an email and password. Goodluck everybody!

Intellectual Ninja Index

Intellectual Ninja is a series of posts about people who are not only brilliant, but also brilliant in previously unheard of ways. These are people that have influenced and shaped our civilization. They are also amazingly cool. Below you will find a gallery of the Intellectual Ninja posts with brief descriptions and links to the full posts. Please feel free to nominate candidates for future posts.

Henry David Thoreau

Henry David Thoreau
Poet, Writer, Naturalist,
Botanist, War Protester, and
Intellectual Ninja

Thoreau was a genius. He was Harvard educated and could have been anything he wanted to be. The most likely occupations for him seemed to be that of lawyer or clergyman. He rejected both of these and instead became an Intellectual Ninja.

Thoreau wrote amazing and stunning poetry. Most of his subjects were related to nature. He was one of the foremost experts on New England ecology and botany in his day. Incidentally, ecology didn’t even really exist as a discipline in the early to mid 1800’s. Thoreau helped invent it.

He is one of the most influential thinkers ever. He has been a source of inspiration for several Nobel Peace Prize winners. Click here to read more about how one-of-a-kind awesome Henry David Thoreau was.

Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson
Poet, Master of Stealth, and
Intellectual Ninja

Emily Dickinson was so ninja, almost nobody knew she was one of the world’s most amazing poets until after her death. During her lifetime only ten or eleven of her poems were published. After her death it was discovered that she had written over 1800 different poems.

She wrote in a style much different from what was common in poetry during her lifetime. She used a different rhyme scheme. She also rarely used titles and experimented with punctuation and capitalization. She was probably one of the first modern poets, even though that movement wouldn’t officially begin until well after her death. Click here to find out how Dickinson turned poetry on its head.

Philo T. Farnsworth

Philo T. Farnsworth
Inventor, Father of
Television, and
Intellectual Ninja
What were you doing when you were thirteen years old? Farnsworth was plowing his family’s farm near Rigby, Idaho inventing the framework for the television. His ideas would remain a part of every television manufactured through almost the entire 20th century. He also, on his own, found an old burnt out motor at their new farm, took it apart, and used the pieces to convert his mother’s handmade washing machine into an electric one. He also won $25 for inventing a magnetized car lock.

Farnsworth later sketched out his ideas for a completely electronic television on the blackboard for his high school chemistry teacher. Philo T. Farnsworth wasn't afraid of anybody and went toe-to-toe with one of the most powerful media companies of his time. Click here to find out how Farnsworth defeated this giant.

Ada Lovelace

Ada Lovelace
Mathematician, Coder,
Computer Visionary, and
Intellectual Ninja
Coders are all the rage these days, but Ada Lovelace would probably find them so 19th century. She was ninja enough to write an algorithm to compute a sequence of Bernoulli numbers in 1842 and 1843. That’s a solid 100 plus years before ENIAC, the world’s first electronic general purpose computer. By the way, Bernoulli numbers are a too complex to explain here so you can read about them here.

Lovelace wasn’t just some Victorian era mathematician and coder; she also completely understood the power of computers long before the rest of the world did. Follow this link to learn more about this genius and her prophetic vision for what computers would become.

Gandhi

Gandhi
Peace Activist,
Lawyer, Civil Rights Leader, and
Intellectual Ninja
Born Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, but known to the world as Gandhi, this Intellectual Ninja maybe the most amazing of them all. Gandhi defeated the British Empire with the power of his mind. He liberated approximately 12% of the entire world’s population, without firing a shot. He won a British War Medal without being a soldier.

Gandhi was from the Merchant caste in India and was educated as a lawyer. Early in his life he work in South Africa where he fought for the civil rights of Indians living there. He formed his dedication to the cause of non-violent civil disobedience there, even though he has attacked by mobs, jailed, and beaten repeatedly. To read how Gandhi won his war medal click here.

Marie Curie

Marie Curie
Scientist, Double Nobel Prize Winner,
Author, Medical-
Pioneer and
Intellectual Ninja
Winning a Nobel Prize is pretty ninja. Wining two Nobel Prizes makes you an elite Intellectual Ninja. Winning two Nobel Prizes in two different sciences makes you Marie Curie. Curie performed her work at a time where women were discouraged from even getting educated in most of the world, did not have to right to vote in most western democracies, and were often seen as simply an extension of the men in their lives. Curie wasn’t having any of that.

Curie’s scientific discoveries changed the course of history by opening the way for advanced medical treatments. She served as a radiologist in a war zone. Her philanthropy continues to save lives today through the two advanced medical research institutes she founded. Oh yeah, she also wrote an amazing cookbook. However her cookbook and many of her scientific papers are too radioactive to touch. Click here to learn more about Marie Curie.

Roger Tomlinson

Roger Tomlinson
Geographer, Geoligist,
Innovator and
Intellectual Ninja
Have you ever used Google Maps, your cell phone, or a hand held GPS unit to find anything? If so you can thank Roger Tomlinson. He was ninja enough to invent a new field of study and discipline, Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This British genius led Canada to create the first computerized GIS system in the world.

Tomlinson got his start on changing the way the world thinks about maps when he was working for a private company in Canada with a government contract. He hit a seemingly impassable obstacle working on an aid project when he changed the world. Follow this link to find out how Tomlinson solved his problem and paved the way for GPS.

We're More Than Halfway Towards Our First Payout

I'm getting excited because this site is continuing to grow.  I love the honesty of our admin and the fact that they have to write to earn also.  I think it's a really cool thing that they're doing for us.  Well I noticed that we're almost at 60 dollars.  From what I understand, we get paid once we reach 100 dollars.  I know it's still going to take a little while after because admin still needs to wait to receive the money.  I'm not sure how we're getting paid, but I believe I've already made 10 cents here.  I'm hoping to make at least a dollar before we reach payout.  It's also cool because the more page views we get as a team, the quicker we will reach our payouts every time.  I can see this site making a lot of money in the future.  All we need is more members and for them to stay active here.  Right now we have about 90 so that's a really good start.  I can imagine us having 1,000 members soon so I can't wait.

80 Year Old Shot By Police

After reading this article http://benswann.com/80-year-old-shot-killed-as-cops-search-for-non-existent-drugs-during-no-knock-raid/#comment-1248885199 it makes one wonder why a police man would shoot one person six times?  I was always taught "1 shot, 1 kill."  Six times, however sounds too much for just one person.
Also, it makes one wonder how do these police think they can get away with crimes like this when they have "recordings" and cameras in their vehicles?  If they would be doing their job right, they wouldn't have to worry about getting "busted."  Do you think that police are abusing their power?
I feel that some police over abusing their powers and can even make up false accusations.  Of course there are the judges and attorneys that believe every word that they say.

How To Turn Facebook into your Connections Log to Earn Views.

You will find a new "Notifications" link in your top navigation bar. You will need to be logged into your Facebook page for this to work. But you can now 'Connect' with and 'Follow' the posts of PWG members that have interacted with your work regardless of where you posted it. Ideally, you would want PWG to be your first Facebook Post. Why lose out on free earnings when you are allowed to directly link to your other pay-sites anyway? Follow these directions to set it up.

1. Share your PWG Post on your Facebook PWG Group Page.
2. Click on 'Notifications' in your PWG top toolbar.
3. Look for, "Shared your Post." Signifying they have passed your post along to earn you new readers rather than simply "liked" it on FB.
4. Also, check your PWG post to see if they commented directly on your post earning you a page view rather than simply "commenting" on FB.
5. Click on their name and share/comment on one of their posts.
6. Mouse over their name in Notifications and Click "Follow" to list them as a Great Connection.

You  can choose to turn off the Facebook notifications that are not your readers if you like to clean your list leaving only those connections that are earning you page views.
Just another way we here at PWG are helping you earn more!
